Sweet Creek Falls are about 60 miles from our house. The last 10 miles are a nice paved road through pretty much the middle of no where. Down a dirt road that goes off from the main road Michael spotted a large dark "shape". We turned around and went back. Soon as we entered the dirt road about 75 yards away the "shape" started running for the woods. It was a small black bear! The first bear I've seen here. Back on the main road a little further along we saw a herd of about 12 elk grazing and a curve or so later spotted 2 deer. Pretty cool!

From the trailhead parking lot the path winds along the Sweet Creek. There are lots of small falls.

The waters trip and fall over lots of huge rocks.

In some places the path becomes catwalks bolted to the rock face and suspended over the creek bed.

This time of year {June} everything is so green and pretty.

Here's another catwalk. You can see how it just seems to hang from the rock face.

About 150 yards further up {and I mean climbing up} are the upper Sweet Creek Falls.
