Me & my Mom - still in Depoe Bay

Wouldn't it be fun to explore some of the caves?

Folks in this house sure have a beautiful view.

Depoe Bay prides it's self on having the World's Smallest Harbor. This is the channel out to the ocean.

Sea Lions out on a bouy. One little fellow wants up - but no room.

We were on a Whale Watch Trip - but it turned into a Coastal Cruise. No whales anywhere to be seen. But we saw some a different day.

The view from high up on Cape Foul Weather.

Down below Harbor Seals sun on the rocks.

Part of an old mountain range - now called Seal Rocks.

Dad, Me & Mom

Devil's Churn - but a low tide it wasn't churning very much.

Some of the waves make really big splashes against the rocks - but the big ones are hard to catch.

The rocky coast line is my favorite.

Mom & Dad on the walkway through the woods.

Really cool the way these old tree branches twist.

Heceta Head Lighthouse.

These are Steller Sea Lions.

This colony has a sea cave they live in when it is cold or stormy.

But this day they were all laying in the sun.

This pack of young sea lions was just drifting and swimming.

Hundreds of sea birds built their nests on this rock.

This is looking out the Sea Lion Cave across to Heceta Head Lighthouse.

Looks like someone cut a chunk of the rock.

Beautiful view from Yaquina Head.

Hundreds of sea birds cover this rock.

Mostly murres and cormorants.

Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area - Baby Harbor Seal nursing.

They said the pup was only a week old. The park rangers called this pair "The Mother & Baby" cause it was the newest born.

Mom, Me & Dad at Yaquina Head.

Dad had a grand time collecting drift wood.

I really liked watching the seals.

Yaquina Head Lighthouse. Dad & I climbed the 110 steps to the top.

Low Tide at Yaquina Head.

Lots of tidal pools to explore.

Lots of Harbor Seals sunning on the rocks.

Birds on one end and seals on the other.

This kinds looks like the ruins of a castle to me.

It's a challenge to see how far out on the rocks I can get.

This is the view of Yaquina Head Lighthouse from the beach below the resort.

Dad and I climbed out on the rocks - just because we could.

Mom wasn't quite as brave - she didn't want to risk her ankles.

At low tide we could get out on this rocky outcrop.

Graceful as a gazelle leaping from rock to rock.

Me & Mom on another beautiful sunny day.

Signs said dangerous beyond this point - but I wanted to see.

This kinda looks to me like a dinosaur foot.

Looking down the coast from the forest path.

I'd love to have the house up on this bluff!

Wasn't it nice of the state of Oregon to name a park for my parents 50th Anniversary.

Forest, beach, rocks and blue skies - what could be prettier?

This one lone rock - all that's left of a once proud mountain range - sits at Cape Kiwanda.

View down the coast to Cape Mears.

The rock in the middle has a big hole all the way through it. Looks like a big arch.

Looking out over Cape Mears.

We were up pretty high at this point.

Wanta go cave exploring?

These rocks look like faces to me.

I think this one is a dragon.

This is a Viking helmet.

I think it's so cool when the ocean makes arches in the rocks.

Cape Mears Lighthouse is being renovated.

Me & my Dad at Cape Mears Lighthouse.

The view down the coast from Cape Mears Lighthouse.

Dad & I just had to climb up on this huge driftwood tree trunk.

Off we go to climb on more rocks and explore more tide pools.

Everyone was just waiting for a wave to break over my head.

Little flowers were growing everywhere.
Big splash!

Everyone wave to our photographer - Michael - who stayed up top to take all the pictures.

This is a Spouting Horn. There is a little sea cave with a hole in it's roof. Pressure from the waves crashing into the cave force the water up through the hole.

Lucky for me the wind was blowing the water AWAY from me. I didn't get wet at all.

Bet the folks who live in this house see some pretty wild waves during storm season.

Pretty close to high tide and the water was churning pretty good.

What a beautiful coastline. I'd love a house along here.

All I can say about this house is WOW what a view!

The coastline is just amazing.

Can you tell how much I enjoy watching the waves hitting the rocks?

Dad is always leaving Mom and I behind on his way to the next adventure.

Waves washing over the rocks at low tide.

Dad scans the ocean to see what he can find.

I'm not the only one who likes to get close to the water. Dad was pressing his luck a little with the Spouting Horn.

There she blows! When the Spouting Horn spouts it really does sound like a whale.

Mom and Dad by a whole field of Scotch Broom.
