I took these pictures with my new Casio Exilim EX-S600 Digital Camera. I'm just learning to use the view screen rather than a view finder and some of the pictures are slightly crooked.

	Union Station - very impressive for a train station!		The Castle, as it is best known, is the oldest building of the Smithsonian Institution and one of America's finest Gothic Revival structures.

	The Korean War Memorial.		There are 19 statues sculpted by Frank Gaylord of Barre, Vt., and cast by Tallix Foundries of Beacon, N.Y. They are approximately 7' 3" tall, heroic scale.
	There are 14 Army, 3 Marines, 1 Navy, 1 Air Force. They represent an ethnic cross section of America with 12 Caucasian, 3 African American, 2 Hispanic, 1 Oriental, 1 Indian (Native American).		Three of the statues are in the woods, so if you are at the flagpole looking through the troops, you can't tell how many there are, and could be legions emerging from the woods.

	The statue of Abraham Lincoln inside the memorial. OK admit it - how many of you think of the Planet of the Apes move when you see this?		This statue is at the entrance of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial
	The proposed design for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial angered some Vietnam veterans and others who felt that it did not convey the heroism, patriotism, and honor inherent in most war memorials. The Three Servicemen Statue, designed by Frederick Hart, was a compromise to that controversy and honors the American military who served in Vietnam.		The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, designed by Maya Ying Lin, contains the names of the 58,220 men and women who were killed and remain missing from the war.

	This sculpture, designed by Glenna Goodacre, depicts three uniformed women with a wounded soldier. While one nurse comforts the soldier, another kneels. The third looks to the skies.
	The newest of the Presidential memorials is dedicated to Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Located in west Potomac Park, it includes four open air rooms made of rough granite blocks. The four rooms symbolize the four terms that President Roosevelt served guiding our nation through the Great Depression and World War II.		This sculpture depicts a man listening to Roosevelt's Fireside Chat radio program.
	This is a bread line from the 1930's. Michael added himself to the line depicting life after the PanAmSat/Intelsat merger.		This represents a poor Applachian couple about to lose their farm.
